Student Transitions and Family Programs
Summer Orientation
Orientation registration is completed by the student through their Porches account. Orientation is shaped by two required programs for students to participate in:
- Virtual Academic Meeting - is a dedicated time for the student to learn about the advising process, navigate schedule changes, and connect with their academic unit. These meetings are held via Zoom, and students will get the access link to one week in advance (sent to their UD email). While parents and family members may sit with their student, note the link to the virtual event should only be accessed by one device so that all registered students can join.
- In-Person Orientation - allows students to explore engagement opportunities and build connections with their peers. The focus of this program will be on experiences beyond the classroom, culminating with a campus resource fair. If they choose to do so, students must register a parent/family member to attend through their orientation registration form in Porches.
