Cierra Stewart ’20

The drive to create change led Cierra Stewart ’20 away from Dayton and straight to Washington, D.C. Now a legislative aide for U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, Stewart embodies learn, lead and serve every day.

Stewart covers education issues for Senator Brown, meeting with leadership from all of Ohio’s higher education institutes, including our own Eric Spina! She also covers areas of civil rights, criminal justice and voting rights for the senator. Her advocacy isn’t going unnoticed, either. She is a member of the Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus and was recently honored with the group’s choice award for her work and dedication.

As a student, Stewart was involved with the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center and is still involved with the Honors Program as an alumna. She also speaks with students involved in the DC Flyers Program and is part of the Washington, D.C./Baltimore Alumni Community.
